Artificial intelligence and social media have played a decisive role in recent years in transforming digital influence patterns and enabling the emergence of a new generation of virtual influencers. The present study aims to map the scientific landscape and identify the conceptual structure of the literature related to artificial intelligence, social media, and the future of digital influencers. Using a scientometric approach and analyzing 365 articles published between 2015 and 2025 in the Scopus database, the study seeks to identify temporal research trends, frequent concepts, thematic clusters, and the geographical distribution of scientific output in this field. Data were analyzed using VOSviewer, and maps of keyword co-occurrence, density visualization, co-authorship networks, and country collaboration networks were generated. The findings reveal a significant increase in scholarly attention in recent years, indicating a shift from an initial focus on social media data analysis toward emerging topics such as virtual influencers, parasocial relationships with AI-driven characters, ethical challenges, virtual authenticity, and user experience. The thematic clustering highlights three main domains: digital marketing and consumer behavior, artificial intelligence technologies and data analytics, and the growing phenomenon of virtual influencers. Moreover, the United States, China, and India were identified as the central hubs of scientific production and research collaboration. Overall, the results show that the field of digital influencers is transitioning into a new phase in which AI plays a transformative role in shaping social influence and marketing dynamics.
