Delays in the coverage of important and crisis-making news or silence about them often exacerbates the potential or actual crises and may lead to a decline in the media’s audience number. Given the audience’s interest in news, radio, television, and new media news networks strive to be the first to tell the important news by publishing news in a timely manner in order to engage public opinion. The research background and the pathology of the IRIB’s performance in covering crisis news show that the main approach in the IRIB news programs has been a passive approach using the strategy of silence and delay. The present study began with the question of what the IRIB’s model should be in covering important and crisis-making news in order to reduce potential harm. Using a data-based approach and interview with 30 university professors, senior news managers of the IRIB, and senior national managers related to the field of crisis led to the extraction of a paradigmatic model with three categories of factors (including the requirements of the interveners, media requirements, and crisis requirements), and the Golden Trumpet model of crisis has been proposed, with an interactive approach, taking advantage of the golden opportunity of the crisis, timely information, and avoiding delay and silence.
